Basalt juniors Katelyn Maley and Ava Lane led the Longhorns to a sixth-place finish with 143 points in the girls 3A final at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Maley secured back-to-back individual titles by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 18:37.1 amd Lane ascended from 11th last season to place eighth overall in 19:16.1.
