Katelyn Maley, a junior at Basalt High in Colorado representing Real Training, won the girls 2,000-meter steeplechase championship in a personal-best 6;54.12 at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Maley, who has only competed in the event twice in her career, became the first Colorado female athlete in meet history to win the national title and the first competitor from the state to secure a steeplechase crown since Bailey Roth of Coronado triumphed in back-to-back years in 2013-14.
